The Future First Dog

So I heard that the president-elect Barack Obama might be looking to adopt a shelter dog. But he is worried about his daughter's allergies. Well, Petfinder.com pointed out that there are plenty of shelter dogs that are hypo-allergenic and there are lots of them just waiting for loving homes! Guess what one of the breeds listed as good for people with allergies was? Mini Schnauzer! That's me! Well, partly anyways! Just think, if I didn't already have a great home with The Owners I could be livin' it up in the White House!!Maybe Senator Obama should look through my Pets of the Week to see if anypuppy catches his eye! I am so excited to see the lucky dog they pick! That dog will become the first dog of the United States of America! That's almost like being second in command! I really hope he picks a wonderful adoptable dog, it will be a great day for shelter dogs everywhere and an American Dog Dream come true for one lucky dog!

Rudolph the Chinchilla Update
My new friend Rudolph is doing pretty good.
He is going to be a week old tomorrow!
He's starting to eat a little bit more although he's still pretty small.
He likes to follow me around and tries to snuggle in with me.Owner Girl says he thinks I'm his mama! What a silly little guy!
His nose isn't so red anymore which is good!We are gonna call him Ru for short!
So far he is doing pretty good, we hope it stays that way.

Hi Tibby

Hey Tibby, it looks like you're taking good care of little Ru - isn't he the tiniest thing! Yep, it'll be interesting to see what doggie ends up in the White House, all right.

Hey - I hope they choose a shelter dog too, Tibby! It would really help to raise the profile of shelter dogs and encourage more people to adopt them. Besides, you know, everyone thinks those those designer dogs like Labradoodles are non-allergenic but that is a myth! It all depends - different puppies in the same litter may be totally different. If they get more of the poodle in them, then they won't shed as much but if they have more of the Lab, then they'll shed like crazy! And besides, a lot of people don't know this but it's not the hair - it's the dander from the skin that makes humans allergic. My human told me all this because she writes for a lot of dog magazines and so she is always researching doggy stuff!

Aw - Ru is absolutely gorgeous! SO adorable!!! And you're so good with him too.

Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
