The Hunt for a Christmas Tree

First of all, I wanted to thank everyone for their kind words and thoughts about Ru. We miss the little guy but I have been giving The Owners some extra love and cuddles so they are feeling better. We are happy to know that he is running free and playing with friends like Girl Girl and many others who had to leave their owners too soon!

Yesterday the family went on a search for the perfect Christmas tree!
Of course they had to bring me along so that I could sniff out the most amazing one!
(sorry for the less than pawsome pics, Owner Boy forgot the good, fancy camera)

We saw many many trees, there were shaggy ones and prickly ones, big ones and little tiny baby ones! I never knew there were so many different kinds of Christmas trees!
And the search begins! "This way guys!"We found a lot of trees and walked all over the place. Everyone kept saying "Look at this one! Hey guys over here! What about this tree?" But I took one sniff and knew none of them were The One.

I even found one that was just my size! I wanted to take it home for our room but Owner Boy said no.

Finally we found two contenders and had a vote to decide which one we were going to take home!
Chad, Owner Boy and Lawrence voted for the shaggy tree.
Rick, Owner Girl and Ashely voted for the prickly tree
It was a tie! So I got the deciding vote! Since I am a girl, I sided with the girls (& Rick) and we got the prickly one!

After we made sure there were no birds or squirrels living inside, we cut it down. Then it ran away!Oh, it's just Lawrence carrying it.Once we got the tree loaded up in the truck, The Owners and I took a picture with the Grinch! I sure hope he doesn't steal Christmas this year!

WOW Tibby!

You got to pick your own Christmas tree!

Since this is my first Christmas I will have to tell my parents to let me pick one out too. I mean, Christmas only comes once a year so we should do it up right!

I can't wait to see your tree all decorated!

What did you think of the Grinch? I hope he didn't scare you.

Kisses
Addie

Hi Tibby
What a fun adventure. You and the girls picked the best tree. That's the one I would have picked to. Prickly is best.
See you soon.

Oh Tibby, what an adventure to go along with your family and pick out your own Christmas tree! I love the one you picked out. It's beautiful! And you even got to meet the real Grinch! I can't wait to see what the tree looks like all decorated. Since I just finished decorating my first tree, I'll give you some advice: whatever the Owners are doing, SNIFF EVERYTHING and GET IN THEIR WAY. It works like a charm!

Hey - how cool, Tibby! I wish we could do similar things here - the thing is, we're upside down here Down Under and it's now summer so my humans complain that it just doesn't feel like Christmas, tree or no tree! When they first moved here, they used to make more effort but now, they say, they just can't be bothered because it feels so weird to be decorating Christmas trees and stuff when everyone else is having barbecues and heading off to the beach!!

Can't wait to see it decorated...

Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
ps. Oh! I didn't hear about Ru! (have been a bit slack on visiting blogs in the last few days...) - am so sorry!
