The People Groomers

Hello!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Owner Girl and I have been working on our Christmas cards, I have to say they are looking good!
Unfortunately I joined Dogs with Blogs too late to participate in the card exchange but we are gonna post the cards we are making for family in my blog for all my friends to see!

Anyways, Owner Girl went to the people groomers on Saturday to get a hair cut!She didn't even have to stand on a table, wear a muzzle, get her nails cut, her ears cleaned or have cinnamon breath spray like I have to at the dog groomers! She said it was actually fun! No fair! I think I should go to the people groomers next time!

After Owner Girl got back we tried to get a picture of all of us for our cards!
Here's a good one we got of me and Owner Boy!And here's one of the many outtakes!Owner Boy was pretending to be a zombie, Owner Girl was pretending to not look at the camera and I was pretending I didn't want my picture taken anymore! But since we were just pretending I think we eventually got a good picture!

Stop back tomorrow to learn about a super-cool trick I know!

The Pets of the Week!

Happy Saturday everyone!
I hope you are having a great weekend!
We have some pawsome pets this week that are desperately in need of loving homes!
I really hope they can find families before Christmas!

The Pets of the Week!

This is Lenny.
He lives in Maryland.

He is a cute boy and loves all the girls! He loves to exercise and loves attention!
Lenny needs a home right away! The shelter where he is living is full and he will be put to sleep if he doesn't find a home soon!

If you live near Lenny and are looking for a playful pal, you can find out more about him on his page at petfinder.com

This is Otto.
He lives in Massachusetts.

He is a happy little guy who jumps for joy when you get home, loves belly scratches and playing with toys!
I love belly scratches too and I jump for joy when The Owners get home! Great minds think a like I guess!

If you live near Otto and are looking for a happy hound, you can find out more about him on
his page at petfinder.com

This is Maxie.
He lives in Michigan.

He is a cutie! He listens well, loves to be with people and is very smart!

The Doggy Coat Fashion Show

I have 4 coats now so I decided to take some time to show them off
and show the Cat how this modeling thing is done.

This was my very first coat, The Owners got it for me last year.
Owner Girl bought me this coat last month! She likes it cuz it's her favorite color!

Then she got me this one cuz it matches my fur and it's simple and stylish.
Owner Girl's Mom gave me this coat! It's a little big on me but I still love it!

Looks like I will be staying warm and stylish this winter!

Have a great weekend!
Please remember to come back tomorrow to see our Pets of the Week!

PS: I think my expert modeling tips worked! Owner Girl says we might have a couple decent shots of the Cat for our cards! She said we are keeping them a surprise though so I can't show them yet - bummer!

The Cat's Christmas Photo Outtakes

Owner Girl tried to get some photos of the Cat ("Beta") for our Christmas Cards today. Unfortunately the Cat didn't really want to cooperate. Owner Girl even tried giving her treats!
I guess treats don't work on cats.

Here are some of the outtakes from the Cat's photo shoot:
Sometimes she just didn't want to stay still...

Other shots might have worked if she had just looked at the camera...

Then she decided to lay down on the job and the last one pretty much sums up the way she felt about the whole photo shoot experience.

Luckily for Owner Girl, I am a pro at photo shoots so we only had one outtake from my session!

And it wasn't even my fault!
I was switching to my next pose and Owner Girl snapped a pic before I was even ready!

Well, I'm not sure what we'll do about the Cat for the Christmas pics, I say we just leave her out but The Owners said something about her being part of the family too...blah, blah, blah.

At least I know I'll be looking gorgeous as always!

Tibby's Tricky Tuesday! & Happy Birthday Owner Girl!

Hello my friends!
Before we get to the super pawsome trick I know, I wanted to tell you that it's Owner Girl's Birthday today!
To celebrate I wrote her a little poem.

Happy Birthday Owner Girl!
You found me on the internets,
you came and got me in your car,
you took me to a store for pets,
you bought me lots and raised the bar!

You take me outside to go potty,
you give me coats so I don't get sicks,
you love me even when I'm naughty,
you teach me lots of real cool tricks!

You're the best owner I ever knew!
Happy Birthday Owner Girl, I love you!

Okay, now for today's trick!

ROLL OVER

Here's what your owner should do:

1. Always remember the yummy, super duper, delicious, fantabulous treats!

2. Have your dog lay down.
3. With a treat move your hand past your dogs nose towards her butt. If your dog follows the treat move your hand over her back just behind her shoulders.

4. If your dog starts to turn on her side to watch the treat, that's great! If she just turns her head the other way you can try coaxing her to roll onto her side by pushing gently on her back.

5. Once your dog is laying on her side lure or coax her to roll onto her back and eventually all the way back to a lay down position.

6. Keep practicing, phasing out the hand movements and coaxing. Once your dog is rolling over without any assistance you can start to phase out the treats.

7. Some dogs really don't like to roll onto their backs because it makes them feel scared. If your dog is really apprehensive, don't push her into it. You want training to be fun for your dog not scary! There are many other methods and professionals that can help find the best way for your dog!

Happy rolling everyone! Fair warning for owners: if your dog likes his belly scratched this should be an easy one, but he'll also expect more frequent belly scratches after learning this totally pawsome trick!

The Hunt for a Christmas Tree

First of all, I wanted to thank everyone for their kind words and thoughts about Ru. We miss the little guy but I have been giving The Owners some extra love and cuddles so they are feeling better. We are happy to know that he is running free and playing with friends like Girl Girl and many others who had to leave their owners too soon!

Yesterday the family went on a search for the perfect Christmas tree!
Of course they had to bring me along so that I could sniff out the most amazing one!
(sorry for the less than pawsome pics, Owner Boy forgot the good, fancy camera)

We saw many many trees, there were shaggy ones and prickly ones, big ones and little tiny baby ones! I never knew there were so many different kinds of Christmas trees!
And the search begins! "This way guys!"We found a lot of trees and walked all over the place. Everyone kept saying "Look at this one! Hey guys over here! What about this tree?" But I took one sniff and knew none of them were The One.

I even found one that was just my size! I wanted to take it home for our room but Owner Boy said no.

Finally we found two contenders and had a vote to decide which one we were going to take home!
Chad, Owner Boy and Lawrence voted for the shaggy tree.
Rick, Owner Girl and Ashely voted for the prickly tree
It was a tie! So I got the deciding vote! Since I am a girl, I sided with the girls (& Rick) and we got the prickly one!

After we made sure there were no birds or squirrels living inside, we cut it down. Then it ran away!Oh, it's just Lawrence carrying it.Once we got the tree loaded up in the truck, The Owners and I took a picture with the Grinch! I sure hope he doesn't steal Christmas this year!

The Newest Chinchilla Angel

Hello Everyone.
I am sad to report that my little buddy Ru passed away early this morning.
He seemed to be making a comeback but took a turn for the worse late last night.
The Owners and I tried very hard to save him but he was just too small and weak.
We are happy that in his short life he was able to experience the love of a family.
We will certainly miss him but know that he is happy, and chubby like he should be, running and jumping all over Chinchilla Heaven.
